In March, the government removed the requirement to introduce a power charge on electricity. Since it was not a ban, grid companies could choose to keep the charge.

The electricity network company Ellevio has now decided to remove its power fee after all. Instead, it is reintroducing a two-part pricing model based on a fixed fee linked to the fuse size and a variable transmission fee.

The background is uncertainty about future regulation. A proposal from the Energy Market Inspectorate for a new common pricing model is expected by April 2027 at the latest.

Ellevio has around one million customers, most of whom are in the Stockholm area. Neither Vattenfall nor Eon had time to introduce power charges before the requirement was removed.
