Ellerströms publishing house has existed for over 40 years. "But ancestry and reputation alone do not save any balance sheets" notes the online magazine Örnen and Kråkan about this year's recipient of the prize for Sweden's foremost poetry publishing house.
By investing in "merch", literary salon and increasing presence on social media, Ellerströms has achieved new successes – without compromising on the sense of quality. "Curiously peering into history, Ellerströms rushes backwards into the future", the jury writes in its motivation.
The prize consists of a traveling trophy filled with dark rum intended to treat the publishing house's poets, translators and other poetry workers. Among previous years' prize winners are the publishing houses Rámus and Nirstedt/litteratur.
