The song was inspired by the King's own words that it "clicked" when he met Silvia Sommerlath in 1972. According to artists Ella Tiritiello and Toussaint Chiza, it instills a feeling of nostalgic love.
"I can see this song in a Disney movie," says Ella Tiritiello.
Above all, I think it captures the story of the king and queen. I didn't really know that until I heard the song," says Toussaint Chiza.
Unexpected duo
The song is written by Jörgen Elofsson, who also wrote “When You Tell the World You're Mine,” which Björn Skifs and Agnes performed at Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel's wedding in 2010.
This time the choice fell on "two of Sweden's strongest young voices".
Both Toussaint Chiza, formerly known as "Tusse", and 19-year-old Ella Tiritiello, who made a splash when she sang at the opening of Avicii Arena in Stockholm, describe the assignment as an important milestone in their careers.
This is truly the biggest and finest assignment I have ever received," says Ella Tiritiello.
The most honorable assignment so far. 50 years ago, it was ABBA who honored the royal couple with “Dancing Queen” at the Opera. And now you and I, Ella, get the chance to celebrate 50 years of love," says Toussaint Chiza.
Whirlwind of energy
For him, being asked to perform came as a surprise.
I think he (Jörgen Elofsson) likes to throw together unlikely duos. He hears something that could click. Ella is a whirlwind of energy. She's magical to work with.
I'm happy that I've gotten to work with Tusse," says Ella Tiritiello.
