Holmes, 42, is currently serving a ten-year prison sentence after being convicted of fraud over his blood-testing company Theranos in 2022.
Using just a few drops of blood, Theranos' technology was supposed to be able to read hundreds of health markers, but the whole thing was later revealed as a potentially dangerous scam.
The information that Holmes will be moved comes shortly before the premiere of the documentary "You Can See Everything", which follows the fraudster's last weeks at liberty in 2023. The documentary, which opens in theatres in the US in October, has been praised by film critics and the trailer has been widely shared on social media.
