In the restart of Allsvenskan after the summer break, Oscar Hiljemark made his first match as Elfsborg's head coach.
Then, the Borås club took a 3-0 win against Brommapojkarna.
At the same time, Mjällby won at home after drama in the final minutes.
The goal scoring began in the 30th minute by Simon Hedlund, who fired a shot that was unstoppable for BP goalkeeper Filip Sidklev.
The extension came through Michael Baidoo in the 82nd minute. The goal scoring was then concluded by substitute Eggert Aron Gudmundsson, who could snatch the ball after a mistake in BP's defense and make the 3-0 goal in the 87th minute.
Hiljemark dissatisfied
Despite a convincing win, Oscar Hiljemark was not entirely satisfied with his team's performance.
We sometimes fall into old patterns, fall a bit too low and go a bit too direct instead of controlling the match more. Of course, we should have a direct game where we can threaten our opponents on our counter-attacks, but I also think we should be able to control the match image more, says the newly appointed Elfsborg coach, who also highlights a few positive things:
Large parts of the match look good. We defend the box and take care of (Nikola) Vasic incredibly well.
Elfsborg is now seventh in Allsvenskan, BP eleventh.
Mjällby's late decision
In the parallel match between Mjällby and Sirius, the decision came late at Strandvallen.
In the 95th minute, Mjällby was awarded a penalty after Patrick Nwadike's push on Alexander Johansson, at the score 2-2.
Adam Ståhl could capitalize on the penalty and wrote the final score to 3-2 for the home team.
The win means that Mjällby is now second in the table, although with two more matches played than third-placed Djurgården. Sirius is tenth.
