With eleven players away, the Jönköping team was forced to borrow two from the All-Swedish hockey team Mora, Gustav Olhaver and Arvid Degerstedt, to get enough players together for the SHL away match with Örebro.
However, the long absence list did not stop HV71.
The guests led 2–0 after the first period, 4–2 after the second, and despite losing to 4–4 early in the third, the away match ended 7–4.
Incredibly strong from us. I'm very impressed with how we approach this match, says coach Anton Blomqvist to TV4 Play.
It was far from flawless in the last 40 minutes, but we worked hard, played for each other and covered shots.
Canadian Riley Woods scored the two goals that ultimately secured the victory. Justin Kloos, also a two-goal scorer, scored the final goal of the match into an empty net.
The full scorer was important for HV71 as the team is second in the table.
