"I feel honored and proud to be entrusted with leading the Swedish champions. I have always followed BK Häcken and been inspired by their strategy, vision and ambitions," Sadiku tells the club's website.
32-year-old Sadiku's playing career came to an abrupt end at the age of 23 due to recurring injury problems. Instead, she quickly took the step into the coaching profession. She began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Chinese side Beijing BG Phoenix and then continued in the same role at Rosengård and Danish side Fortuna Hjørring.
She later had primary responsibility at Eskilstuna United, Everton's U21 operations and during the last two seasons at Celtic.
Sadiku will make her coaching debut on February 11. Häcken will face Icelandic side Breidablik in the first quarter-final of the European Cup.
