A lowered forecast and a worse-than-expected third-quarter result have caused Whirlpool's share price to plummet by almost 10 percent in futures trading. At the same time, Electrolux shares are up 2.8 percent.
For the full year, Whirlpool now expects sales of $14.5 billion, compared with its previous forecast of $15.0 billion.
This is expected to result in a loss of $1.30 per share. In its previous forecast, the company expected a profit of $2.50–3.00 per share.
