Appliance manufacturer Electrolux reports an operating profit of 452 million kronor for the first quarter of 2025. This can be compared to the loss of 720 million kronor for the corresponding period the previous year.
Analysts had on average expected a profit of over 666 million kronor, according to Bloomberg's compilation.
Primarily, it is about a weak development on the North American market, where the company made an operating loss of over 300 million kronor.
"As we enter the second quarter of 2025, the demand outlook for appliances has become increasingly uncertain. Against this background, we have adjusted our market outlook for North America for 2025 compared to 2024 from "neutral" to "neutral to negative", writes the company's CEO Yannick Fierling in the report.
The turnover amounted to 32.5 billion kronor, compared to over 31 billion kronor a year earlier.
