The support, approximately SEK 3.4 billion, applies to January and February this year.

"The strong public finances mean that we have the opportunity to support households in the uncertain global situation," says Minister of Financial Markets Niklas Wykman (M) in a press release.

"With this support, we are now ensuring that households receive much-needed relief before the summer," says Oscar Sjöstedt, economic policy spokesperson for the Sweden Democrats.

For a villa, townhouse or holiday-home owner, the support can amount to between SEK 1,100 and SEK 1,850 depending on where in the country the property is located and how high consumption was.

This means less support in the north and more in the south.
