Four people have died after a violent fire in a ten-story building in French Reims. A faulty electric scooter on the fourth floor is pointed out as the source of the fire.
Local authorities say that everything indicates that the fire started by chance when the battery of the electric scooter, for unclear reasons, began to burn.
Among the deceased are an 87-year-old woman and her 59-year-old son, who, on the eighth floor, suffocated from the fire smoke. A 13-year-old jumped from the fourth floor and died. His older brother, 15, died from the flames.
According to reports, the fire department fought for over three hours to extinguish the fire.
