The vote count between the red-green and Tidö parties is extremely close on Sunday evening.
The election may not be decided until Wednesday in the so-called catch-up count, when the municipal election boards count early votes that did not make it to the polling stations on election day.
This includes, among other things, overseas votes and late-arriving early votes.
In the 2022 election, 224,000 such votes were counted on Wednesday.
It is likely that this number will increase, as early voting becomes more common with each election, says Jenny Stad, press officer at the Swedish Election Authority.
The Election Authority will not know how many votes there actually are this time until Wednesday.
We won't know until that count begins.
