Party secretary Jakob Rixen writes in an email to Ritzau that they "regret" that they have ended up in this situation.
"But we must act when it turns out that we have received incorrect information in connection with the nomination of Cecilie Liv Hansen, and that this incorrect information is significant."
Rixen does not want to give any specific details, but adds that it concerns the member "not being honest with the party about extremely serious circumstances in his private life."
The Liberal Alliance received 9.4 percent of the vote in the election, an increase of 1.5 percentage points compared to 2022.
