The accident occurred at 5 p.m. in Åstorp outside Helsingborg.
"The initial reports indicate a head-on collision," said police spokesman Patric Fors.
Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance. A woman in her 80s is seriously injured, Region Skåne reports. A two-year-old boy and a man in his 60s have suffered minor injuries.
"We will investigate the traffic accident as negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm," said Patric Fors.
It is unclear how the accident occurred. Police are questioning everyone involved.
