A man in his 80s was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Ljungskile on Sunday.
The man was flown by ambulance helicopter to Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. The police later announced that the man had died, reports Aftonbladet.
The elderly man received heart-lung resuscitation before the ambulance helicopter arrived, says rescue service leader Mikael Hirvonen to Bohusläningen.
The police have initiated an investigation into reckless driving and bodily harm.
The car involved in the accident is being seized for technical examination, says police spokesperson Adam Isaksson Samara.
The alarm about the accident, which occurred at the old E6, came at 12.17 pm.
