Relatives were at the scene when emergency services arrived shortly after lunch on Monday. Initially, it was said that the man was seriously injured and resuscitation attempts were made.
"Unfortunately, his life could not be saved, the man was pronounced dead at the scene," writes incident commander Per Magne Eftang at the Sørøst police district in a report.
Exactly what happened is unclear, and police are investigating the incident.
