The accident occurred in Örebro just before 9 a.m. on Friday morning, when the man was hit by a motorist.
The man was taken to hospital but died from his injuries. An investigation has been launched, but no one is suspected at this time.
"We will investigate what happened at the scene and why," police spokesperson Sophia Jiglind told Nerikes Allehanda.
