The match was only five minutes old when Elanga struck with his sixth league goal of the season.
One of the more beautiful ones, too. Elanga, from his own half, sprinted and dribbled his way forward via a quick counter-attack before shooting Nottingham into the lead – and victory – with a left-footed shot on the run.
A classic goal.
Elanga scored two goals against Ipswich before joining the latest national team gathering.
With his sixth goal, he also set a personal best in the Premier League. Last season, the striker scored five goals during his debut season in Nottingham after transferring from Manchester United.
Elanga received a standing ovation from the home crowd when he was substituted in the 85th minute.
Nottingham Forest is third in the league table, behind Liverpool and Arsenal, and is getting closer to playing in the Champions League next season.
National team captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf sat on Manchester United's bench.
