The Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali seemed to be heading for a certain gold in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase. But with just a few meters left, the big favorite slowed down considerably.

The New Zealander Geordie Beamish came up quickly alongside and ran past right before the finish line.

The Moroccan could hardly believe his eyes and hit himself in the head after the finish.

Third in the race came Amos Serem from Kenya.
