The 29-year-old cleared 1.83 and 1.88 on her first attempt, but stopped at 1.92.
"It was incredibly cold today. I feel disappointed right now, but at the same time, when I look back on this year, it would feel pretty bad if I didn't feel proud anyway, considering the big steps I've taken," Ekman says.
The European Championship gold medal went to Ukraine's Jaroslava Mahuchikh, who cleared 1.97.
