At least eight people have been injured in connection with a Russian attack on Kyiv, reports the Ukrainian capital's military leadership on Monday night. One of the injured is said to be a three-year-old who sustained shrapnel injuries.

The condition of one of the injured is reported to be critical, according to the head of the military administration Timur Tkatjenko.

Window panes of a high-rise apartment building were blown out in connection with the attack, he reports.

An air raid alarm went off in the city just after 10 pm on Sunday evening and was followed by explosions, according to the journalists of The Kyiv Independent. Another wave of explosions was reported at 4 am on Monday morning.

Attacks were also heard in the city of Kropyvnytskyj, according to information from the city's governor.

In the last 24 hours, at least four civilians have been killed and at least 40 injured in Russian attacks on various parts of Ukraine, according to regional authorities on Monday morning.

During the night towards Monday, Russia used 324 drones and a number of missiles against the country, according to the Ukrainian air force, mainly in the regions of Chmelnytskyj and Starokostiantiniv.
