This is the Swedish Life Saving Society's (SLS) preliminary compilation, which shows eight drownings, compared with 14 in June 2025.
So far this year, 22 people have died in drowning accidents, compared with 40 people during the same period last year. “Now it is important that we continue to help each other create safe behavior in, on and around water,” says SLS Secretary General Mikael Olausson in a press release.
