The loan will go towards developing treatments for several cancers and neurological diseases. It supports the Stockholm-based company's research in areas such as radiotherapy and radiosurgery, and also goes towards the software for the treatments.
“The financing gives us greater flexibility to execute our long-term strategy and continue to invest in innovations that improve treatment outcomes, streamline operations and provide a better patient experience,” says Elekta's CFO Klara Eiritz in a press release.
The majority of the work will be carried out in Sweden and the Netherlands. The EIB loan will cover up to half of the investments.
