It is Egypt's football president Hany Abo Rida who is said to have filed an official complaint with FIFA after the match, reports Spanish AS.

Several decisions sparked Egyptian anger during the round of 16 on Tuesday night, including a disallowed goal and a missed penalty.

"The referee was not fair. He is unfair and committed a clear and obvious injustice," said player Mostafa Ziko, who had a goal disallowed that would have made it 2-0, and also scored the allowed goal to make it 2-0.

The Egyptian association wants an explanation for why the referees made certain decisions, and to start an investigation into the decisions.
