The project developer Liquid Wind is taking in half a billion kronor in what the company describes as "one of the largest financing rounds in Europe for electrofuels this year".
This involves Uniper, Hycao, and Samsung Ventures investing money in the company, which aims to reach investment decisions for ten facilities by 2027.
"This strengthens our capacity to accelerate production and promote our vision of reducing the world's dependence on fossil fuels", announces Liquid Wind's CEO Claes Fredriksson in a press release.
The company is developing facilities to produce e-methanol from carbon dioxide, including in Östersund, Sundsvall, and Umeå. However, the project that had progressed the furthest, in Örnsköldsvik, was shut down by Ørsted earlier this year.
