In the fall of 2027, the musical will premiere at the opera under the direction of Edward af Sillén.
"We will give the audience a grand, colorful, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy with captivating dance numbers you can only dream of," he says in a press release.
"Singin' in the Rain" is based on the film of the same name from 1952. It first became a musical in 1983 and has been performed several times in Sweden.
Edward af Sillén's production will be performed during the 2027–2028 season. Calle Norlén is responsible for a new translation and Alistair David is the choreographer.
The cast list will be announced at a later date.
