22-year-old Ryding recently made his debut in his first major international film, "28 years later".
In the new "Hunger games" film, he will play Vitus, a university student who, together with Proserpina, played by American Iris Apatow, prepares for the bloody games.
The film – which is based on author Suzanne Collins' latest book and directed by Francis Lawrence – will have its world premiere in November next year.
The film also features actors such as Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Maya Hawke and Glenn Close.
Ryding gained major breakthrough in the role of Prince Wilhelm in the Netflix series "Young royals" which premiered in 2021.
