Ecuador's former president Lenín Moreno has been convicted of accepting bribes related to the construction of a hydroelectric power plant.
Moreno is one of four people convicted in the case involving a hydroelectric plant built by the Chinese company Sinohydro. It is alleged that the bribery took place while he was vice president, from 2007 to 2013. Moreno was president from 2017 to 2021.
