Ebola continues to claim victims. So far, 438 deaths have been recorded and 1,406 people have been infected since the outbreak in Ituri province became known on May 15 this year, the National Health Institute INSP reports.

The Bundibugyo virus variant is behind the current outbreak. There are no vaccines or specific treatments for it.
