We need more time to further examine the right knee and the left hand that were injured in the fall, national team doctor Rickard Noberius told the newspaper.
At first it was unclear what had happened to Andersson during the five-mile race; she suddenly fell far behind in the fog, but afterwards she said she had fallen on the course's steepest downhill slope.
"I just fell from that. I was probably thinking, 'Should I continue?' It felt like I hit my head," she said after the finish.
According to the national team doctor, this is a precautionary measure given the long journey.
In that case, we consider it better to refrain and examine Ebba further at home.
Other national team stars are traveling to the United States on Sunday for the competitions there. Andersson will not be replaced.
