Easyjet has reached a preliminary agreement with investment company Castlelake, which has submitted a new proposal for a bid. This would value Easyjet at more than five billion pounds, equivalent to just over 64 billion kronor.
Easyjet's board said in a statement that it was leaning towards recommending that shareholders accept a bid of £6.90 per share if the actual bid comes in by August 3.
Castlelake, which manages assets specifically in the aviation industry, has previously made four proposed bids, all of which were rejected.
