The vessel Eagle S, suspected of sabotage against, among other things, the Estlink 2 power cable on Christmas Day, is now allowed to continue its journey by the Finnish police, reports Yle.
Besides Estlink 2, which runs between Finland and Estonia, several data cables were affected by disruptions in connection with the incident.
Finnish authorities seized the vessel. The initial investigation is now complete, and therefore the vessel is allowed to continue its journey from Finnish territorial waters.
Eight people are suspected of crimes, according to the police. Three people are banned from traveling. The current charges are gross sabotage and gross disruption of postal and telecommunications services.
