Two cars have collided and then a truck has driven into the accident, says Sören Gustavsson, team leader at SOS Alarm, to Aftonbladet.
Five people were involved in the accident, which occurred in a southerly direction just north of Jönköping at 18 o'clock.
The police write on their website that one person was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The accident caused a complete stop in both directions and the traffic had to be diverted.
According to Jönköpings-Posten, the traffic was expected to be reopened again at 20 o'clock.
