It is the organisation Stichting Wolven Belangen (Wolves’ Interests Foundation) in the Netherlands that has appealed to five affected county administrative boards: Södermanland, Västmanland, Dalarna, Örebro and Västra Götaland.
The organisation otherwise works to promote the wolf population in the Netherlands, but decided to get involved in the Swedish wolf hunt after the county administrative boards decided that 72 wolves in Sweden could be shot starting in January.
"We deeply regret that so many wolves are once again at risk of being shot," says Wolven Belangen chairman NMT Reijers in a press release.
