"When we were going to connect to the pipeline network at Stenseth, we discovered that the first three fire hydrants we opened were dry, and that there was low pressure in the fourth," writes Kristin Grydeland, press officer at the Drammen region fire brigade IKS, in an email to VG .
The fire started on July 17. It spread quickly and burned down more than 110 homes. During the firefighting operation, emergency services reported problems with the water supply.
Grydeland points out that there was water in the fire trucks and that firefighting could still begin immediately.
It took four days for the fire brigade to bring the fire under control.
