Armand Duplantis won the pole vault competition in Monaco's Diamond League gala at a height of 6.05.

The 25-year-old Swedish-American star then attempted the world record height of 6.29 but failed three times.

It did not feel completely perfect today, actually. It felt like I was a bit heavy in the legs. There has been quite a lot of travel lately, says Duplantis to SVT.

The record of 6.28 from Stockholm Stadium for just under a month ago remains.
