Earlier this month, news broke that Duplantis was moving to Monaco. Now it is also clear that the Swedish pole vault star will compete in his new hometown this summer.
The Diamond League gala in Monaco has chosen to add the men's pole vault to the program, not least because "Mondo" wanted it, his agent Daniel Wessfeldt tells SVT.
"Yes, it was both. The organizer of Monaco's Diamond League wanted Mondo to participate, and Mondo liked the idea, so the organizer added men's pole vault as an extra event," Wessfeldt writes to SVT.
The gala in Monaco will be held on July 10.
