It was in August 2024 that Duplantis jumped 6.26 metres in Katowice. Since then, he has raised the world record to 6.31.
I really like jumping here, Duplantis says and continues:
I'm going to have a lot of support tomorrow. I hope I can go out there and jump really high for everyone and maybe offer something really big.
The competition will be the 26-year-old's third in eight days. On Sunday, he took European Championship gold and on Thursday he won the Diamond League gala in Lausanne with 6.21. Greek Emmanouil Karalis also managed 6.16, and Duplantis said it was "the best competition in history."
Karalis is also competing in Poland on Sunday.
