Armand Duplantis enters the European Athletics Championships on Friday, when the men's pole vault qualifiers get underway. But the past few months have been "stressful" for Duplantis. There have been weddings, injury problems and a move to Monaco, the gold medal favourite said at a press conference ahead of the European Championships in England.
"It's been a lot. But now I feel good, ready to jump," he says.
During the summer, Duplantis' grandmother also died, aged 92. In Birmingham, "Mondo" wants to win for her.
I know grandma wants me to go and "kick some ass," so that's what I'm going to do - for her, he says.
