The world's best pole vaulters will compete in Uppsala again. In the "Mondo classic" Armand Duplantis will face the world elite ahead of the Indoor World Championships.

"I love pole vaulting and always want to challenge myself to higher heights. It would be an incredible feeling to break the world record in my home arena – in front of all the spectators and clubmates in Uppsala," says Duplantis in a press release.

The competition in Uppsala will be decided on March 12, just eight days before the Indoor World Championships in Poland begin.

In September at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, “Mondo” set his fourth world record of the year and defended his World Championship gold. The other day, Duplantis was also named the World Male Athlete of the Year by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
