TV star Phil Robertson is dead, writes The Wrap. He became 79 years old.
Robertson became known as the controversial patriarch in the series "Duck Dynasty" which started broadcasting on American TV in 2012. The program was for a time one of the USA's most popular and sparked great controversy, not least since Robertson expressed himself derogatorily about homosexuals.
Viewers protested and politicians entered the debate, and Robertson got fired from the series. He was, however, taken back into favor later.
"Duck Dynasty" was shown on History Channel in Sweden.
