On food shelves, chocolate has become increasingly expensive as the cocoa price has quadrupled on the raw materials market in recent times.

But so far, it does not seem to have reduced the craving for chocolate among customers. When nearly half of the stock market year 2025 is to be summarized, the chocolate shares are among the winners. The venerable Swiss Lindt, which was founded as early as 1845, has risen by almost 30 percent on the Zurich stock exchange as the company has managed to pass on the increased costs to consumers by raising their prices. A spokesperson for the company also tells the news agency Bloomberg that they can expect continued price increases.

The company's big recipe for success, however, has been the so-called Dubai chocolate with, among other things, phyllo dough and pistachio cream.

The chocolate became popular through various social media, and Lindt has jumped on the trend with great success. Stock analyst Jörn Ilffert at UBS calls it "one of Lindt's best product launches ever". On the company's website, customers can now buy a gift box containing 435 grams of chocolate for 529 kronor.

Lindt is not alone in the chocolate sector to see rising stock prices. Mondelez, which includes Marabou, among other things, has risen by 12 percent, and Nestlé by around 16 percent since the turn of the year. The exception is the American Hershey, which has instead lost around 4 percent.

For Swedish investors, Cloetta has also been a huge success this year. The stock is up 36 percent and is currently trading at the highest level since the spring of 2017.
