Dua Lipa, represented by lawyers, claims that Samsung inserted a photo of her on the packaging for television models starting last year - without consent.
"Lipa's face was used prominently in a major marketing campaign for a consumer product without her knowledge, without compensation, and without her having any influence or control," the lawsuit states, according to Variety.
The star believes, among other things, that this constitutes copyright infringement and that she owns the rights to the image. She is now demanding the equivalent of approximately 138 million kronor.
It is unclear how Samsung will respond to the allegations.
