The Lund District Court has concluded that it is not beyond reasonable doubt that she had intended to drive while intoxicated, reports HD/Sydsvenskan.

The woman has stated that she felt unwell and had consumed alcohol and taken both tramadol and 14 sleeping pills before driving. However, she has not admitted to the crime, as she claims she was so affected that she was not conscious of her behavior.

Other motorists alerted the police to the woman's journey between Helsingborg and Landskrona. Witnesses were overtaken on the inside at high speed and saw the woman's car zigzagging across the lanes. When a police patrol arrived at the scene where the journey had ended, the car was damaged and had a puncture.

The court was not unanimous, but the woman was acquitted.

I believe that she drove a car for a fairly considerable distance. It shows that she was in a state where she was conscious of her actions, comments prosecutor Ruben Degerman to the newspaper.

The verdict has been appealed to the Court of Appeal.
