The statement comes after drones were fired on Saturday morning from Lebanon towards the Prime Minister's private summer residence in the coastal town of Caesarea, between Tel Aviv and Haifa.
Two drones were shot down by air defense, but a third is said to have crashed in the town.
"Iran's proxy Hezbollah's attempt to murder me and my wife today was a serious mistake", Netanyahu writes on X.
According to Netanyahu's office, he was not at home at the time of the incident.
Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz is on the same track:
"The Iranian proxies who attempted to murder Prime Minister Netanyahu and his family today have once again revealed Iran's true face and the evil axis it leads", he writes on X.
According to Israel, the drone that crashed caused material damage to a building, but it is unclear whether the Prime Minister's residence was hit.
A few hours after the attack, Netanyahu claimed that "nothing will deter us".
We will continue until we win, he said in a video recording, according to the newspaper Haaretz.
Israel's security service sees the drone attack on Caesarea as a "very serious" failure, reports the military radio channel Galatz, citing sources.
