It is the fourth day in a row with attacks on the port city of Port Sudan. An AFP journalist reports on several explosions early on Wednesday, followed by a cloud of smoke.
On Tuesday, reports emerged of drone attacks on the harbor, the city's power plant, and the country's only functioning airport.
From the city of Kassala, about 60 miles south, comes source information about drone attacks on airport facilities.
Tens of thousands of people have been killed and around 13 million have been forced to leave their homes in the war where the regular military and RSF militia have been fighting since the spring of 2023.
The RSF has not directly commented on this week's attacks on Port Sudan, which is located around 65 miles from the militia's nearest known positions on the outskirts of the Khartoum area.
