Oil and gas facilities that supply Russia's war machinery with fuel have been set on fire in drone attacks, claim Ukrainian authorities.

The attacks were carried out against a refinery and another facility in the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, a few dozen miles east of Ukraine.

"Both of these strategic facilities produce large quantities of fuel for Russia's occupation army," says Ukraine's General Staff, which also promises several similar attacks.

Unconfirmed videos on social media show massive nighttime explosions. Parts of the capacity are said to have been knocked out, and the attacks also resulted in power outages and stopped air traffic.

But Russia also launched a drone attack on Monday night, which partially knocked out the power in nine Ukrainian regions, reports Ukraine's power grid.
