Russia has shot down 38 drones in the area overnight on Tuesday, according to a social media post by the governor of the Leningrad region.
The port in question is located in the Gulf of Finland and is described as important for Russia's exports of fossil fuels.
Ukraine has claimed responsibility for previous attacks on the port as well as attacks on the oil port of Primorsk on the other side of the Gulf.
Ukraine has intensified its attacks on Russian infrastructure such as refineries, oil depots and ports in recent weeks, which Kyiv describes as retaliation for Russia's offensive and as part of efforts to reduce Moscow's war chest.
