Two or three drones targeted the area around Binyamina in the northern part of the country, one of which evaded Israeli air defense and hit its target.
The Iran-backed group fired "a swarm of attack drones at a training camp ... in Binyamina, south of Haifa", as "a response to Zionist attacks", the group said in a statement according to the AFP news agency.
Hezbollah claims to have first launched rockets that "deceived" the Israeli air defense and paved the way for the drones.
Threats of more
The group threatens with more attacks unless Israel stops its offensive and bombing in Lebanon.
Four army soldiers were killed in the attack in Binyamina and another seven were seriously injured, according to a statement from the Israeli military.
No air raid sirens sounded in the area, according to Israeli rescue authorities.
The attack was the second in two days where drones managed to bypass the Israeli defense system. On Saturday, during the Yom Kippur holiday, a drone caused material damage.
USA sends
The US Department of Defense announces that the advanced THAAD missile defense system is being sent to Israel. The primary purpose is for the system to strengthen the defense against Iranian missile attacks. American personnel will, according to the Department of Defense, be on site in Israel to operate the missile defense system.
Iran has launched missiles and drones against Israel on two occasions this year, in April and October.
