Two of the affected are reported to be seriously injured. It is still unclear whether the people were injured by the drone or in connection with attempts to stop it.
According to the Israeli military (IDF), the drone was launched from Yemen. The drone "fell in the area of Eilat" by the Red Sea after the air force failed to stop it, according to a statement from the IDF.
The Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen has attacked Israel with drones and rockets on several occasions in what the movement says is in solidarity with Gaza. The majority are shot down or have fallen in open areas without anyone being injured.
